Combines C 62 vs other conventionals

I presently own a 9610 and a C62, and I would have to say (at present) that the Deere prevails in small grains while the Gleaner shines in corn. The Gleaner's biggest weakness is walker-loss, but I understand there's mod's in the works to reduce this. The Gleaner is much more convenient to operate, but I believe it could use a little more horsepower.

Hello Tom! C62 vs. 9610IJ Better cab visibility and better controls! (Gleaner builds the best cab)! Seems easier to set than the Deere! It also seems to be a better "balanced" machine, weight-wise, from front to back! I had both machines in corn last fall, and the 2WD Gleaner could almost go anywhere the 4WD Deere could. The 300 bushel grain tank on the Gleaner in nice, compared to the 240 bushel bin on the Deere. I'm considering converting the C62 to duals and adding 4WD. Once it's off warranty, I'm turning the pump up a bit and, coupled with some concave mods which are currently in the works, I think I'll have a "Meaner-Gleaner"! Oh, Tom, and the best part; - $40,000 Canadian (not "real" money) lower cost than the comparable Deere!

I'll consider that name, Tom, although it's a "little" lengthy! All kidding aside, my AGCO dealer is bringing an R62 out for me to try in wheat, in about a week or so. We will have my Deere 9610 and Gleaner C-62 running alongside of it, along with a Massey 8780XP! It should be an interesting "farm show", especially since the R62 has alot of the "mods" installed!

There's a person on this system by the name of tj who works for (or owns) SJ Welding. They've done rotor_cylinder and concave mods for l's and M's, in addition to many rotaries, and are in the midst of providing them for the C62_8680! If you go to the Massey forum, and scroll down to the thread that reads "Why buy MF" you will see some of his comments there!

Yes please post the results of all the machines, what size header were they running, etc. I am interested in the Massey 8780XP.

All the machines will be pushing 25 foot flex heads in heavy straw conditions. The yields (I expect) should be around 80 bushels per acre! I'll post the results and try to take some pics!
