Combines C62 8680

I believe this machine is all Gleaner and shares something like half of its parts with the Gleaner rotaries. My understanding is that Allis Chalmers had this machine (or an early version of it) ready to replace the l3 in the mid to late 80's, but their financial problems and eventual sell-out caused it to be shelved.

Combine was built on R62 base frame. 25X63 inch cyl, (thats 635mm X 1600MM to the rest of the world on the monkymeter system) walkers instead of processor, belt_ accelerator roll for hill side performance. Rest of the machine is R62. approx 60% commonality or however you spell it. 1997 was intro date to best of brans reccolection.

This combine is still in production. Its Gleaners answer (C62) to a conventional and Massey uses it too.

Was at a combine clinic and a Gleaner sales engineer told us the C62 was actually designed back in the early 80's to replace the M3_l3. They wanted to incorporate the accelerator roll concept into the conventionals and make parts more common to the rotaries. Anyhoo, Deutz came along and shelved the design. AGCO then brought it out of the mothballs, refined it a bit and started building them.
