Combines cage covers

Maybe not in corn. I would think you would need in most other crops. Maybe could leave out middle three right behind concave but install far right and the ones on both sides of left concave arm and the tin covers. Maybe if you be more specific on crops you could get more input.

I did not use any cage covers harvesting wheat with my Hyp'ed N7. What do they doIJ I will be harvesting Milo in about 2 weeks. Should I install for MiloIJ What will I gain by adding the seperater grate in small grains such as wheat, milo, oats and soybeansIJ Thanks

They prevent straw from leaving ID of cage at key locations to help prevent cage sweep plugging. He has cage sweep still installed so they remain important in some crops. Even without sweep you may find them handy if you find blockage next to concave arms or hanging over center split area next to left concave arm. We build up a wall above center split area to prevent straw from hanging and then possibly plugging worse and worse. I can't help you with milo but prefer not to have seperator grate in most cases. I find seperator grates can overthresh and or roll some crops but on the other hand may not hurt but only help you. If I were you I'd see how you get along the way it is and be ready with rasp bar or another means to control a loss. Good luck

Only cage covers we leave on is left and right just behind concave and the one to left of left concave arm. I have also built a wall upward from left concave arm to prevent straw from hanging and building up from that area. There isn't and cage sweeps left running around hear but we remove it completely no just unhook it. You'll get some bridging on top of cage but no problems. Good luck
