I have never taken the wires out, but I do know that if you live in hilly terrain do not take out all of the reverse bars they help hold grain in when the discharge end of the cylinder is on the down hill side. These are reverse angle bars on the discharge side of the cylinder I run 4 of these. several years ago we purchased an R60 with few hours. When we started beans we was chewing the straw terrible in fact we were plugging the distribution augers. I think it had 8 reverse bars and we left 4 and made all the difference in the world.Hope I was of some help. I forgot you have to pull the cyl. to do this. out the left side.

You should be able to remove the bolts that hold the grate in place tipp the grate back towards you and take vise grips and tap the wires up and you should be able to remove them once you get the bolts out it's not that bad of job. It's been a few years but I think that is whaat you need to do I recomend plugging the holes left after you pull the wire you can get a kit from agco or plug them with calk or somthing like that .
