i have turned a couple of 240s up to 270's specs with the laptop but like you said, i did it before i knew the fines. the injectors in the 240 are the same as the 270 but there is a company that makes after market injectors for them. they come in four sizes i belive and do not put the biggest ones in because it will put you at around 380-400 hp and it to too much for the motor, i speak from experience on a tractor that i put them in. i dont remember where he got them but i will try to find out for you. as for running rougher, yes at an idle it sounded like a open hot puller ready to go down the track but with the smallest oversized injector i think it would be ok, but be ready to put more fuel in.

The EPA puts the burden on the manufacturer. If a farmer chips an 8420, John Deere is not responsible, just like if you chip your Ford Powerstroke. But if a Case technician uses his computer to reprogram your MX 240, he is an employee of the manufacturer and therefore subjects his company to liability. And since the Case engine doesn't use a chip, there is nothing that can be done by the owner to increase power. I suppose if the EPA came out to your farm and tested the engine, they could fine you if you had done something to modify the engine. But they don't have the manpower to check on every farm, so the put the burden on the manufacturer. Same thing on the 2188's when they first started putting the wastegate turbos on them. Some guys figured out how to put a ball bearing to block off the wastegate. The technicians knew they were doing it and in some cases told them how to do it, but they couldn't do it themselves or they would be in trouble.

I have a mx240 and case tech showed me a hidden trick. If u have the performance monitor just start the tractor and withen 5 secounds hold the up and down keys. This will let bring up a menu that lets u choose mx270!!! How it just much fuel u want to burn.

did it gain powerIJ it's hard to believe that would bring it to 270 specs because when you download the software it takes about 15 minutes to do so it seems like there is alot of information to change.i am a doubting thomas right now but i guarantee you i am going to try it the next time i have one hooked to the dyno. i hope it works, thanks for the info.

I tried to get to the menu you were talking about and could not find it. I have the preformance monitor. Are you talking about the up and down arrows on the upper screen or the bottom screenIJ Thanks Steve

i'm guessing it would be the top screen, the bottom is only for information, fuel info-slip-acres
