Haven't been around Canola much myself but know of two or three things that help. Number one is very good accelerator rolls, Number two is faster 3,4, or even 5" tall board at very rear of chaffer to act as a dam to prevent canola from going over. Number three is cutting loose front six or so louvers on chaffer and lock open. A '96 would benifit from some hyperizing also. like forward extended cylinder bars, seperator grate built up flush with cage, feeder shocks, and anything to flow straw without breaking up to much.
