Combines Capacity R52

My helicals are just starting to flake. Our first year (6 years ago) we had trouble with soy bean stems wrapping on the pivot shaft (320 head without intake fareing which is on the 500 series). A recommendation was to use Manchester chains to improve feeding. I think that was a mistake, I have trouble feeding corn is less than ideal conditions. Jerry at Midway Farm Equipment said his farmers get much better feeding when they replace worn slats with new Gleaner slats. When you say stock except for the SunnyBrook you said a mouthful, check a little further down the list for "Question about St. John enclosed rotor -" What amazes me is double the throughput going from an R50 w_190 hp, to an R62 w_ what,260hpIJ

I had a dealer tell me the 62-72's with the wider feederhouse and larger rotor were "much more forgiving" than the R50. Material just didn't run as tight versus the R50. I had some feeder house (chain) problems along the way with my R50. New and tight chains seemed to help. I finally had a "false floor" similar to what the R52's have installed in the 50 and that helped quite a bit. The floor had to be modified to fit due to the shorter feeder house in the 50. I've had almost no trouble with the feedre chains in my 62 until the original ones were wore out. Put in new ones at about 1,000 hrs and never had a problem since. The enclosed rotors are nice. Never have a vibration problem due to dirt buildup and the extra inertia for tough spots is good. I can't necessarily say they will increase capacity a lot but I do think they require a little less power.
