I have a client that wants me to carve wildlife scenes into some live trees. Is it possible to carve into the trunk without killing the tree? I know it's an odd question, but I believe we have some tree farmers here, so I'm hoping for some tips.
It probably depends on how big of a wound you make, because removing the bark and cutting into the tree is just that - a wound. It can be done, though. Just be careful about how much bark you remove and how deep you cut.
