we always get them to check for the closest dealer that has the part then if its far away we phone and ship it over nite lot cheaper than driving. All dealers have problems sooner or later even our deere dealer.

I would agree, go for the aftermarket augers and feeder chain slats. I believe the loewen auger is heavier and does have hardsurface on it, and also available in chrome, and yes, at a much better price, and most likely in stock.

Having worked the parts counter of a Deere dealership long ago, (before the age of computers),we AlWAYS considered it our duty to call neighboring dealers for out-of-stock parts, especially during harvest season. The farmer didn't have to "locate" the combine when he wanted to buy it; - the dealer did that for him! Why should he have to locate the parts to keep it goingIJ I do agree, however, that some farmers should be more aware and "open" to patronizing the aftermarket companies; - there is alot of good product out there!
