Some of the JD 8000 Series did this when they first came out back in 1995, but I don't know if it's the same problem. The mfg making the gears for the Deere tranny wasn't making them up to spec (not hard enough) and they were grinding the gears to nothing. Dealers spent most of the summer of '95 doing PIPs to them. Got it totally fixed now. Sounds like you've got a computer_electronic problem. Those could be painful forever.

good luck !!! know a farmer that has had an mx270 for two years and this will be his third. it is currently sitting in his yard waiting on a lawsuit against the local dealer and case. they have had nothing but problems since they got the tractor brand new. was in the shop 13 times in the first year alone and wouldnt perform well enough to pull their 12 row planter. the machine is on a three year lease, after fighting the tractor for two years, they told case they want out of the lease contract because of non performance on the tractors part. they paid the two years of lease payments and the thrird was due and case told them to go get bent and it was their baby to deal with. great customer relations, eh. why would any dealer do this to a customer. some of their problems were hydraulic, three point, transmission, and engine . pretty much the whole gamut. know of another that was called in for transmission noise over the winter and they has to split it and do something in the transmission. those guys have had really good luck with theirs. i guess what i am getting at, anything that is mechanical can have problems no matter what the color. if it becomes chronic then start leaning on the dealership, for what ever good it will do you. i hope that it is the only problem you have to endure. those are the times when the dealer really does make the difference. good luck and have a safe spring season!!!!
