seemingly Kubota were going to buy CAT and AGCO as well as General Motors and were then going to close down all the american plants just to p*** you off! and that was straight from the horses mouth (Mr ED)

If GM buys out anybody it will be CNH cause GM holds a small interest in Fiat and is planning to increase its share of ownership. And as far as deere being bought out the only company with enough muscle and money is GE my friends at GE have told me that they have been looking at deere for a while now.

I think the salesman is right but how can he prove it. Cat took an $80m charge when they "sold" the Challengers to Agco, so that could be used to buy Agco shares I suppose. Any other real evidenceIJ John Hudson

Stop Press: Whole of Caterpillar bought by BIC pens to produce hard wearing roller balls. They are to produce a special Claas line in Omaha with green ink for the European market and yellow for the States and Australia, features to include special rubberised grip for better traction!! Pen production to be centred there for a while due to import duties imposed on EU produced goods (no change there) and to use up all the surplus plastic from tractor and combine production(source Reuters and AP). PS Only european designed pens will be made as american design did not have desired output!
