Combines cat equipment dumped at auction

For the coming year financing will be through Claas and AGCO. Rapid depreciationIJ An auction is the best example for a free market where supply and demand determins the price. In addition Claas has not established a reputation that would lead to a high resale value. The draw back of CAT made the lexion resale value go far down for years now. CASE is no competition since they started closing their dealerships rapidly this year. John Deere is the only one that is able to maintain a strong image with dealerships and lots of equipment, even so most dealers don't carry any parts anymore.

Saw an add on equipment locator where cat dealer had same year and model with same hours for $188,000 what does that do for his dealership and ability to sell tradeins when equipment gets dumped on the market like this.Catipillar had aggressive lease programs and low interest that other equipment manufactures could not compete with.I have looked at financing with Agco in the past and it was not attractive at all on gleaners.Always had a gimmick.Could do better at a bank

My uncle was at the auction. The Combine sold for $63000 to the banker who was financing it. The tractors (45s and 55s) all with around 3000 hrs brought an average of $35000, and they werent in bad shape. There was also a 95E that sold in the 60's. I dont know why that stuff was so cheap, but you sure cant justify buying new when Cats are already overpriced, and you can buy used for so much less.

Sounds like the great american giveaway. But I don't understand .Was the combine bought by the banker because the bank placed it in the auction as a repo and didn't get enough for it.Or did the bank buy it for a farmer and then finance itIJWas cat financing available at this auctionIJ
