Combines Cat vs Deere lawsuit

You need to give credit where credit is due, the hydraulics are the work of the "Genisis" tractors CAT just picked the wrong brand to have teamed up with. We run a Challenger 55 on a 1770 16 row planter and it barely does the job.

The U S Court of Appeals has reversed a federal judges Aug 1999 dismissal of the lawsuit by Cat against Deere and has reinstated it as of Sept 14 This is according to Wall Street

Speaking as an owner of an 8000 series tractor, I must say I've never owned a better machine. From the power, maneuverability, hydraulics, comfort, and all other areas, the 8000 is unmatched by any tractor, present or past. It sounds to me that JD couldn't please you if they gave away $100 bills. Maybe you should take you Deere bashing somewhere else, as you have nothing constructive and substantial to add to this message board.

I bought my 8300 "off the brochure"; - it was their first year and my local dealer didn't have one to show me. Aside from a tranny upgrade which Deere voluntarily performed (the tranny worked fine) it has been a great experience owning and operating this tractor and, at 5600 hours with NO major expenditures, I would not hesitate to buy another one. As far as STS's are concerned, I've logged about 70 hours on the STS9650 through a dealer rental program, and I'm VERY impressed with this machine. Despite the "Altendorf lawsuit" rumours (and they are rumours, I've talked with Sandy Altendorf) I feel Deere has done their homework with this machine. My CaseIH uncle is equally impressed. What exactly has gone wrong with YOUR Deere 8000 seriesIJ

It is Jan Altendorf daughter of Elmer. Never heard of Sandy. Maybe you dreamed it.

No dreaming; - just side-tracked! Yes, it was Jan! I remember that I had to call 3 or 4 different numbers before I reached her on her cell phone. She was quite thorough with her explanation of the pro's and con's of the STS!
