Cat put on a program at my college about the lexion combines. The way speaker explained it to us is that corn will wear a combine out twice as fast wheat. Rice will wear a combine out 4 times faster than wheat.

The lexion 460's are actually the largest combines in North America. The 460 has the greatest threshing and separating area of any combine. When equipped with the Intensive Separation System (ISS) above the walkers, the 460 is directly competitive with all competitive class six and the majority of class seven combines, operating with headers up to 36' draper heads and_or 12 row cornheads, no matter the yield. For a walker combine, 460's are huge on capacity and should be very efficient to operate. like any walker combine, the 460 doesn't have the ability to force productivity like a rotary combine has.

The value of a combine is not only determined by its age, capacity and separator hours. Reliabiltiy, performance in grain loss and grain quality, warranty, dealer network and factory support add to the value of a machine just as much.

I couldn't agree more! lexion combines are valued because they are comprised of those very same "value added" qualities mentioned in your above posting above. And just as important, I think, is how the owner has taken care of their machinery too.

How many do you wantIJ All of the things mentioned above like the lack of a dealer network and support, having to wait on expensive parts, and expensive service calls are the reason we want to get rid of these things. I will admit they are a decent machine; just no backup from Cat_ Claas. I've got a 450 with heads ready to ship!
