I have the same problem only it is mainly grean steam beans which don't chop very easly. By my measurement, if one could find 3' wide conveyer belting, it would be the right size to reach from the tinwork down to the axle. I have yet to find it though

We mounted a piece of plastic to the front of the axle that extended up to the chaff pan and then was bent back to the same angle as the chaff pan. It seemed to work well.

ihman, I'm not sure what kind of spreaders you're running and on what series of machine but if you are running the stock CIH chaff and straw spreaders your salution is hanging right there on the combine. You mentioned the spreader curtain, remove the back section of that curtain and bolt it on to the bottom of the front spreader curtain and then bolt the other side to that long curtain that goes across right in front of the spreaders. You'll kill two birds with one stone by doing that. With out that back spreader curtain on there, the spreaders will spread farther and you will not have that build up on the axle. I could send you a picture how I did mine, if you need one. K.A.

Unit 2 Yes if you would please send me a picture cause I don't quite follow. Yes they are the factory spreaders, and the only curtains I have are on the side but could order more if you think it would help. I appreciate it Brad

Would also be interested in a picture of this setup if it wouldn't be a bother to you.
