I have a Crary spreader on my 1460. It came with a flow control valve that mounts to the side of the separator. It has a little arm on it with a set screw to set a speed for the spreader. Its operation is independent of reel speed so that you can slow your reel down and maintain the same spread pattern or speed the reel up without throwing residue into standing crop. I think I have seen these valves for sale in Northern Hydraulics catalog. Hope this helps.
