Combines chaff spreaders

I mounted a Kirby on my R60 this year. I went with a seperate hydraulic pump driven off accelerator roll shaft on left side. So far I've only used it a couple short afternoons on barley. Is working well, I've noticed I don't get as much dust in the engine compartment, maybe because the Kirby is mounted at axle height.

I got to that page but it came up with a little square with a red X, where that picure should be. I left clicked on it and then on "show picure" but it won't show it. I really wish I could see it.

We have the Crary Chaff Spreader. It's easy to install, the swing away feature is nice. We like our Crary and it spreads really nice.

Chaff fins work great, they are cheap, easy to install and do not require any hydraulics. They will give about a 20' to 24' spread. Keep in mind that these are extended fins. Try the link provided it might show a picture. Goto Gleaner upgrades when you get into the site. www.agworldequipment.com

Does the Crary require alot of hydraulicsIJ I kind like the idea of the Extended Chaff fin kit. It also seems very affordableIJIJIJ

Is there alot hyd plumbing involved or is it fairly basicIJIJIJ

If you don't want a hydraulic driven spreader check out the REM pneumatic chaff spreader that uses a belt driven blower to spread the chaff.

I have had a REM chaff spreader on my MF 860 for about 5 years. It works really well. Does a very good job spreading chaff and apart from reinforcing some mounting brackets it has required no repairs. I have e-mailed REM to find out if there is a mounting bracket for a Gleaner. I'll let you know what they say.

Have the JD chaff spreaders on a 9500, seem to work OK. With no wind and working at higher end of speed range (obviously speed is veriable) will spread the full 30ft. With crosswinds this will vary obviously. Have never had any issue with stubble management in crop's up to 2 tonne. Hope this helps. Did the frosts effect you at allIJ Cheers Bundy
