Consider a 450 lexion, it'll out perform the 660_9690 with 8 row corn head or 30 foot bean head hands down.....and its a walker combine and will be less money too.
We ran a 9790 massey, sister to the 670 I think. Its a monster for capacity no doubt and the machine is so simple. I know the cats are good machines but looking at that monster with all the moving parts just scares me a lil bit. I would be more interested in the 660 or 670 myself because of the simplicity in design
That maybe,but when I owned a combine it was a roter, and the custom combiner ran 2388's. I DO NOT want to go back to a conventional. That is one reason I wasn't going to buy a lexion. That and the Challenger_MF is engineered under the K.I.S.S. theory, (keep it simple stupid).
I have a 8780xp before that 8780 I have been real happy with these combines. They are easy to set lots of capacity and they run.My dealer is 100 miles away and it is not a problem I keep a few belts on hand but haven't used them.The cat dealer is 5 miles away and he is going to sell the yellow masseys. My parts just got closer.This dealer told me they havent sold a lexion at this store and they would just sell the Massey. Now I don't want to get the lexion guys mad. Out here we just have wheat and we need leveling systems on all combines. The dealer has rented and demod and they say by the time you get leveling they are spendy.I think out in flat country in corn there is more to gain with a lexion.I know the dealer ran the two combines and were very impressed with the Challenger. Before the dealer only test the salesman thought the Challenger would not do well I said you might be suprised and to let me know. A week later he came out and said how all the sales people were very impressed and that they would be Challenger dealers.
Have you tryed a CR 970 Combine from New Holland. There self leveling system is totally ausume.
