Both are class 6 machines, so should be close to same capacity.

Posted here yesterday but it seems to have disappeared. What kind of crops will you be threshing and under what conditionsIJ Our dealer sells both machines but feels there won't be much demand for the challenger, because it won't perform as well as the same sized lexion. He was running a 770 against a 470R and the lexion was outperforming it in dry and tough conditions. let me know what you decide.

the biggest difference here in nebraska is the challenger doesn't have a variable speed feederhouse! that is the biggest complaint with the challengers because it is almost a necessity in corn but in my opinion the claas's biggest draw back is the walker bearings, being to small, but i understand that issue has been addressed!!

the 465R has rotary separation, so there are no walker bearings. Its basically the same as the old 470.

lexion may be the more capable machine, but sounds like most CAT Dealers are dropping lexion, however they may not admit it publically. I understand that there are now only 15 of the 50+ CAT dealers carrying lexion, and then only until inventory is gone. If you don't plan to get rid of the machine, choose what fits your operation best. If you plan to trade in a few years, the lexion may be a bloodbath on resale market. Just my 2 cents.

Are those facts your stating or competitors "rumours". If fact can you tell me where you read it. I'm not trying to be smart, just want to separate fact from fiction.

Comments on 15 remaining CAT_lexion dealers until inventory is gone came from press conference attended by Wall Street brokers (Goldman Sacks, A.G Edwards, lehman Bros. etc) and AGCO management on Nov. 4 2003. I am only stating what I heard. Frankly, I have no interest either way.

Thanks for the info., if thats the case then we're in trouble as we just bought a 480r!! Could have bought a CR 970 for similar dollars too. I'm going to do some checking around and post what I find.
