Combines changing a oil cooler on a 2388

changed mine last season. Not a huge job.You need to make the hole in the bottom of the air chamber where the pipes exit to allow you to twist the cooler enough to get it out without pulling half the combine apart. The hole needs to be a triangle, and the new cooler base will cover in neatly. I used a 4" angle grinder with a thin cutting wheel and it took seconds. I've done 3 now.

Any good radiator shop will be able to repair it. Twist it just right to get it out without any cutting. Repaired mine last year.

While you have it out cut some holes it the bottem side of the outer side sheets to let the junk get away form the lower side of the tubes so they don't rust out. Thats what CASE-IH did to the new ones.

We had to relace the one in our 2388 last fall and didn't have to cut any holes to get it out either. We put a new one in because we didn't want to wait a couple days for a radiator shop to fix it. We kept the old one and will have it repaired before harvest in case we ever need it.
