Are we talking about "Downy Brome" sometimes known a cheat grass or something elseIJ I think you should be able to blow downy brome out. Try opening the sieve to help get more air into the chaff. Or try to reduce the chaffer load by changing rotor and vane settings or both.

I imagine that he is referring to Downy Brome, which is what most people refer to when they say "cheat". Brome was a real problem in our area of the country this year. We have never been able to find a compromise position that will blow the "cheat" out the back and not increase our wheat losses to an unnacceptable level. We have tried about every combination of settings on a 1660. We had two loads with a 3 1_2% dock this year for "cheat", the rest were below 1 1.2% or nothing. We heard of loads being docked as much as 30%.
