That dont look like a very good report, but I havent seen where JR ever responded,so I wander how much of this was self inflicted. I know I have 2 R72 that havent given me that much trouble since I have had them,And they have more then 900 hrs on them. But I also know a guy who bought a new R75 and had nothing but trouble, needless to say he now droves a JD. IG, you make some good points, I was also surprised to see so many problems for such new machines. Having run R62's and R-70's, we have never had that many problems. I believe tbran commented about the dealer predelivery not being done, I definitley think there is merit to that, and other factors (dealer, operators, daily inspection, routine maintenance, harvest conditions) as well in running a large fleet of combines. I was glad to hear that Gleaner started doing a 5 hour predelivery test on all new combines at Hesston, starting this November. Hopefully, this will minimize these things from happening.

Shocked when I read it also. Very odd for something like that to happen

I can sure understand why people would desire switch colors after bad "experience" like you refer to. I would strongly consisder it too. Sort of seems funny though, how people can't switch out of brands like AGCO fast enough when it happens to one of their products. Yet when it happens to a JD many of their customers seem to have a lot of forgiveness and the thought of switching colors never enters their mind. Apparently JD has done enough things right customers forgive them. I have two neighbors who have two year old STS's that have had more troubles than the list on the other pages each by a long ways. Not only is the list longer but more expensive things too-not including the new engine the one needs. Oh yeah, and neither machine has 500 hours yet. These two guys just can't wait to buy another JD combine, tractor, chainsaw, lawnmower, gloves, underwear, etc... Wow, now that is loyalty. JD has no doubtly done something to deserve this-likewise other brands.

One of the things I noticed about the list is that most of them are very minor things that almost anybody would see if they ever looked at their machine and could have been very easily and quickly corrected. My friends that run JD are always doing little things here and there to make sure they keep going. Sometimes people make things worse than they are to justify spending on a different machine.

Melven Esyter who is about 75 years old, owner of the R65 has traded machines in ND and then goes to Hesston and gets his new ones, and services them at his place. Maybe Mr. hotshot with pad and pencil should have helped service instead of trying to be a JD want to be.
