Combines CIH Rotor Balance

Does it turn over smoothly and quietly by handIJIf there is material somehow trapped in the rotor, you can hear it tumble inside. See if you can determine if the front bearing is turning smoothly. Also the rear hub could be suspect. Turn it over a half dozen times or so,and write the number on the bottom each time it stops.See if it's always stopping in the same place. Don't get too wild about taking bars off,and moving things around. You don't want to upset things that might not be the cause. If you cannot find anything at all apparently wrong,I would try to add flat washers to the light side.Since you have the standard rotor, you will have the unused straight bar mounts near the front.I would bolt the flat washers there. You can vary the counter-weights very easily this way,and they can quickly removed if necessary.Good luck.

I got a great tip from someone else on here (I dont want to take credit for idea). Put rotor out of gear and spin to check if it always stops at same spot or spins forward and rolls back to heavy spot. Stick magnets out old loudspeakers or similar opposite heavy spot midway along rotor until it is in balance, then weigh magnets and weld piece of steel in their place.
