A 8570 would have slightly more capacity than a 1680 and a 8780 even a bit more.If you go to a 8780XP you will have a lot more capacity. It is to my understanding that you can update to the new rotor if you want, don,t know the cost though. The 1680 is a good machine but you won,t regret changeing to the Massey, they are top notch.

if i were you i would look at a good used 2188 the cab beats anything else out there i think espically if you are running a 16 series the view is great and i would also look at who will treat you the best on parts and service

We are obviously looking at our options, that being one of them. We have had great service from our CIH dealer when we needed it, however the Massey_AGCO dealer we are working with, and have worked successfully with in the past has offered the same quality of service on some of our other equipment, so that is really a toss up. I do know how nice a 21xx cab is, and greatly appreciated it after helping a neighbor in his rutted fields. We may very well stay with CIH, but are intrigued with what has been said here as far as simplicity and sevicability regarding the MF rotaries. YoungFeller

Watched 8780XP run with 2388CIH and R72Gleaners last May in Texas. all combines had 30'heads. Massy stayed close to R72's And left 2388 in the dust. If you want more info - contact SilverBlood on Gleaner talk. He ran the units and can be specific about comparison.
