It is a massy painted silver. I was asked to go see one work(massy)but i was still chopping corn so I had to pass it up. When my dealer gets back from the demo he said he would fill me in one it.

Engineering was having difficulty showing enough of a step above the current class 7's, requiring more development time according to AGCO sources at Farm Progress Show. This is clearly a solid statement of where the current product is in technology and capacity. We can only imagine what a superb combine the new class 8 will be when it is finally released. Without the psychology of green and yellow paint, the machine really has to perform.

Is this a production unit or prototype that your dealer was mentioningIJ Our local Gleaner dealer told us that the R85 was (going to be) basically the same dimensions as a 9790, only with a larger rotor, more hp, a larger grain bin and an enhanced cleaning system. From what I've seen of the 2 9690's working in my area, they should be one impressive machine!

Well it sucks it's going to be a common platform. Anyways the new MF that looks like it will be a gleaner also, will have from what i've heard a 31.5"x140" rotor(Old White rotor),385hp Sisu engine(the best part),360bu tank and AlOT more cleaning area over the 96_9790. They arn't copying Deere and just adding HP. I liked the idea of adding 2 rotors to the sides of the Gleaner and having the entire inside one big sieve. The split the hear in 2. Makes more sense to me. But then youd have to move the rotors length wise. Take care, Nathan

Recently, a semi-truck carrying an apparent new Class 8 was overnighted in Groton SD while having service done. The truck had Canadian plates on it. Several area farmers got a peek, it looked streamlined somewhat like the sides of the new New Holland. Engine was SISU as expected and had a 400HP sticker on it. Combine was dressed in Massey red, however, it did not have any numbers on it. Unloading auger folds away to almost disappear. Really neat feature how auger folds, also extremely large. Can't wait to see final product. Have been told it will not be at louisville.

So this whole natural flow thing has been a lie for the last 25 yearsIJIJ Or. They are just painting one silver so us die hards will still buy oneIJIJ They could widen that 75,people who say they cant is buying into the massey. My 72 looked like a midget setting beside a 9660 Deere. If it cant be made wider, then why can it have duals that are 17' wideIJIJ Or are we worried about over seasIJIJ It just makes me sick that they are completly leaving all of the gleaner natural flow from previous years. OlE WEll IF YOU CANT BEAT THEM JOIN THEM. Deere thought they didnt need a rotor for 20 years, but they were wrong ,guess maybe all of us gleaner guys have been wrong for a long time. Hope some day they save the money from having to paint them different colors and paint them all red. IG

i see your point IG. widen the rotor, make it a little larger, lengthen the shoe along with width, put a bigger clean grain auger and elevator and bin loader, bigger unload auger, wider machine means bigger grain tank, and maybe bigger final drives, and crank that m-11 up above 400hp and you've got what sounds to me like a beast. i am a little scared of the sisu because it may not have enough meat for the horses.

Its a shipping issue. They can not be made any wider. Anything over 12 feet wide requires a escort in some states to transport. That being said they could put a decent turrent auger on them that would fold back above the rotor. Then they could lengthen the rotor by about 16 inches. But in the long run Agco will probably not make 2 different styles of combines. They do not sell enough to justify 2 different models but I think it will be a while before they drop the Natural Flow. We all know agco does not make changes very fast. They are just now thinking about making a full fingered auger for the flex head.
