No white caps or unthreashed heads. Excessive chaff and stems that probably should have been separated at the chaffer, but have made their way into the shoe. I have used a Massey 510 for nearly 25 years that had cascaded sieves that I had no problem setting. I'm probably not turning the fan up enough, but I'm already getting some loss of wheat out the back. Some of our wheat went through a few weeks of hot weather and army worm infestation that caused some of our wheat to weigh in less than 60 lbs. Butch

Factory installed adjustable. Rear Section about 12" long can be set separately from front 35" section. The intial factory setting is 5_8" by the operator's manual. I have a specialty rotor with cover plates over one and 1_2 sections of the concave. The wheat seems to be threshing well, but I the air is not set correctly or the chaffer and shoe are not set correctly. Butch

You didn't say whether you have a corn or small grain chaffer. The corn chaffer is the poorest choice for use on wheat. The best choice is an air foil type. You're welcome to phone me for a more detailed discussion on this subject at: 1-800-745-1680

First of all make sure you have the 1 1_8 closed slat sieve in your machine an air foil or at the least the 1 5_8 closed slat. Second check the front of your shoe and see if someone has pulled the old cut the first four rows out trick and see if a difflector has been added on to the fan if you have the old style fan. This has caused me more headaches than anything. Then open up your shoe and adjust your chaffer until you can do the cleanest job possible without throwing grain over(you will have a trashy tank till you get this set. Then adjust your shoe down to clean up the mess in the tank.
