Combines clean up

I guess at the end of every year I bloww of the combine than take a pressure washer to it. Have never had any problems whis water in gear cases also I always give the combine a good greasing before I put it away and put some fuel stablizier in the tank and test the antifreeze. Bud in ND

I always do both. Blow off with air first and then power wash. Blowing the marjority of the dust and chaff off before getting it wet makes for a faster wash job.

If your machine has a lot of electronic wires and all, the dry blow-downis better. A good leaf blower is best for me. I have a Gleaner with all sorts of electronics and have had no problems. leave some moth balls in the cab and shoe to keep mice and rats out. Water with the connections scare me with the electronics.

We blow them off and then wash. Then we grease and run the machine at mid speed for about 30 minutes to make sure the water drys off the bearings.
