Yeah, the 2 inch cat n4 hitch pin on early STX's, lost two of them on grain cart duty. Measely 3_16 or 1_4" plate welded on top would break the weld and then fall thru, thus down would fall the Avalance cart. I can remember the Pro-harvest guy being at my local purchased dealer saying "my that does sound bad". Nothing ever happened I just bought and paid for more hitch pins. CNH should have given me the forged hitch pin and hammer strap like the current ones have today in my opinion. Traded that low houred STX for a smaller used JD, and to my dismay it outperforms it, has creature features that work, and does not go in the shop for PMS every 30-60 days. Funny thing the dealer I traded it into was poking fun of JD plastic rear fenders on 4WD, how cheap they looked to him, I just laughed and said yeah yours have lifting eyes in them to hold the 3pt up. So operators that forget to re-capture that 3pt hitch do not bend a PTO shaft. Had that happen before, stupid safety feature in my mind, sure do not miss that on the JD either.
