I believe that he was refering to the cob deflector. that is the rubber flap above the chaffer,ahead of the chopper. it helps in wheat,didn't notice much in beans last yr. did think it helped the flow of stems going into the chopper. this yr our beans are less than great. 10 to 20. I'm able to get a good sample though. running 500- 530 on sep,18 on concave,and 1300 on wind. roundbar concaves. beans are small so my sieve is alittle tighter than normal 2 or 3 mm below book setting. chaffer about on book setting. feed acc. on low (have low feeding and not much for yeild so why bust them up anymore) I'm happy w_ mine hardly any pods and very few splits.12.5 to 13.5% moisture. hope this helpsIJ its what I'm doing. anyone else got any adviceIJIJ mit
