How wet is the corn you are pickingIJ It sounds like you are grinding up the cobs. If everything is working right most of the cobs should come out of the machine in one piece, at least until they hit the straw chopper. I would try slowing down the cylinder and speeding up the fan. You might have to play with it but but once you get that 4400 set right it will give you a very clean sample, and will not leave any corn on the ground.

Not to tell you what to do but I wouldn't run the straw chopper on corn. It will tear up the back of the machine. I had to rebuild my chopper because somebody ran it on corn.

we have a 4400 too. we never have had a prblome with gettin cob in the hopper. but we only use it for corn so the fan speed is not a problem for us. do u use it for anyother crop besides corn. maybe you don't have the fan speed set write. or you need to slow the cyldinder down a bit. our 4400 will shell corn and leave us with a nice clean sample. we run a grain cleaner cuz of the cracked cernals and the small ones. we get very few cob in the corn
