Combines Combine Header

We ran a 30' 2062 flexdraper side by side with a 20' 1020 with air reel. The flexdraper cut at least as good as the 1020 and the feeding was far better. Only drawback to the draper is the price, other than that it's a no brainer.

I think the draper cuts lower than the 1020 if you adjust the hydraulic top link and skid plates properly and I definitely agree the feeding advantage goes to the draper over any auger header.

Flex drapers are a very good feeding head, but let the 1020's do the tall weed escapes. A flex draper only has 2 pivot points and by design can never be as flexible as a 1020, if your land is relatively flat than this is not an issue. Extending the center cylinder to cut closer may work in some areas, but our area has an abundance of stones, and yes stones will make it over the high front lip. Wet conditions will soon discourage you from using too much header pitch as damp dirt will get under your center canvass. A properly adjusted 1020 is a tough act to follow if it is properly adjusted and at a lot lower price.

I agree with most I think it offers a much cleaner cut close to the ground and outperforms our 1020 side by side in shorter beans. $$$$ is no comparison. The other thing to remember is these heads are very heavy and require 12 row ready.
