Yeah, I remember a movie many years ago (made for TV) with Dennis IJ (the McCloud guy). He played the owner of a custom harvest business.

Dathon, There are two harvest movies that I know of. The first one "Amber Waves" with Dennis Weaver came out in the early 70s. A much better one, I think, "American Harvest" with Earl Hollaman and one of the guys that was in that show "Mash", can't think of his name now, came out in the 80s. I've seen both of them about zillion times. K.A.

I think you are looking for Yellow Trail From Texas, maybe. It featured a real custom combiner with Masseys. Not impressed by Amber Waves, but American Harvest [now called Race Against the Harvest] is available from Amazon.com and other places.

There is a very good movie titled "Betrayed" with Debra Winger and Tom Berenger filmed in the latest 80s. Aparently he is a farmer ... while she is a combine driver... Although the film is not directly related to farming, its nice to see several Case International 1680 combining. Besides you can see Axial Flows flying in "Twister".

Fortunately, I had the privelege of getting on location during some of the production of Twister--right in my town even!!! I can put all you Axial-Flow lovers at ease. Those were not real combines as some of you may already know. Fairly realistic props, though, as they lured me off the hwy for a closer look. I thought they were exp. machines, because some stuff looked funny. Security also stopped me, adding to my theory, but was told the movie crew had come to town while I had been on a harvest run.

I remember another movie with Jessica lange and Michelle Pfeiffer. A 1998_ 1999 dramatic film that begins with an Axial Flow unloading grain on the move and a Case Steiger. Sorry, dont remember the title ...

That Movie was "One Thousand Acres", had Jason Robards too, wasn't too bad, wasn't too good either, IMHO.

This is a great post, I love to watch movies with agriculture in it. The movie "a thousand acres" was not a bad movie but some of the issues really hit home. My favorite movie was "American harvest" I have not seen this movie in many years but I have always had it in the back of my mind. What I can remember about it is they were trying to make a go of it with some 95 deeres and they were having there share of trouble, then the guys wife buys some T2 deeres with the money she had saved up.I would love to see it again but I dont know where to find it.
