We use standard, large wire concaves with every other wire removed. There should be NO sharp serfaces. The more worn your concaves are, the better. Your standard rotor bars should be OK. Again, the more worn, the better. We run rotor almost as slow as possible and start with wide concave spacing. We then gradually reduce the concave spacing until we leave just a few grains on the cob. We get quality bonus on nearly every load. You will need to drive the combine fast enough to keep the rotor full as possible. We usually run 4.5 to 5.5 MPH (depending on sixe of combine and size of corn head). The rotor is the IDEAl maching for running popcorn.
