Cant' say i know much, just wanted to wish you luck. I heard about the snow storm up there - seemed to be the only region that was going to have decent crops this year before the snow. We got hammered with frost - everything is sample. Good luck and don't lose your patience!!

you could try using comp mode but my guess is that it will maintain too much ground pressure that you will start to pushh mud, as long as you pay attention go ahead and try it, it could work.

your right gm ,only works on drier parts of the field. spent lots of the day switching between comp and autofloat. comp seems to work better in the really flat stuff.

I feel for you,I'm doing peas that have gone flat to the ground also. When it comes to cereals and snow we've found you are always further ahead to have it in a swath. We would end up combining sooner after the wet stuff than the guys trying to scrape the ground and often only able to cut in one direction only.A flex head might work better.
