interesting ordeal, what was the quality like oil etc. whats the weather doing in your partsIJ my wifes family in mid montana are having a real dry time even for montana. dry as and cows are on irrigated hay fields already. Has ND escaped the dryIJ.As i'm in australia we're only up to date with montana and wisconsin due to family. we're seeding wheat at the moment canola up and going good .Sure would like some decent rain here though as only had little bits over last few months luckily at convient times. well good luck seeding and hope you get Sflowers off sooner next time.

I combined standing wheat in the spring of 1996 in Saskatchewan and the fields were muddy on the top but once you got down about 6" to where the frost was you could go anywhere even through standing water. It seemed kind of strange seeing other farmers seeding and trucks delivering anhydrous on the roads. One thing I did like was the days are a lot longer in the spring and you get good drying conditions. We combined sunflowers south of Carrington last fall we finshed Oct.26th and the weather never was good for harvesting the rest of the fall. GOOD lUCK this year

We have had a pretty slow spring here with cool temps and wet conditions but as of about the 15th of May we are making progress in the field.lot of guys around here are not too excited this spring about getting crops seeded due to inputs and prices. Our area is still wet and there will lots of prevented planting claims again this year. But it is what we do ,right! The test of the SF oil came back at 42% which is very good and will bring a premium. They are a high oleic acid oil type SF from Pioneer that has been good over the last few years in yield and price-$1.65_cwt over Enderlin,ND price and with the lDP payment they end up around 11.00cwt which is real good.Too bad you can't raise them on every acre every year. All crops here are comming up,wheat, durum, barley, oats, canola sunflowers and canola and so far look good.lOl John
