Combines Combining wheat

G'Day Brent Yep! Should have no worries with combining wheat with your set-up, I would recommend that when your about to start the wheat that you close the front of the concave up to 2 to 3 mm and you might have to add about 3 filler bars if not 4, then run your rotor at 800 to 900 rev's and see how you go! just make sure that you have all of your grains threshed out in the first pass through the concave, (very little repeat!!!) if not keep adding filler bars one at a time till you do,I believe you shouldn't have any problems!!!! Rolf PS: You should try a 50 mm PVC pipe along the front to help in even feeding, it's that same principle as the pipe in soybean's. Rolf

I ran a setup like yours last year, except I didn't have any reverse bars in. Worked great no problems with rotor loss and had great capacity. I did have the seperator side opened a bit. Rolf are you saying you are running a pipe on your wheat headIJ I always liked the tilt feeder house option they used to have to tilt the wheat head back a little so the wheat would fall under the auger better. G'Day Kurt Yep your right, We use the pipe idea to help with feeding in Wheat! We only use a 50 or 60 mm pipe, this lays the crop down head first under the table auger, makes a big diffrence to feeding,threshing and cleaning. I don't like mucking to much with the head tilt as we have to set it up fairly right for flexing when we are in lentils!!!! Rolf

Kurt, Sometimes we might get a little variation in height! but I would think it should still help in wheat that has a lot of variation in height! you might need to play around with different size diameter pipe, you could try three different sizes along the front and see which one works best.
