I'm sure I'll only get a few of them, but after having both, I'll list a few that come to mind- The big thing is the new cab - much better! There are feederhouse differences - the tension drum carriers are heavier and better. Heavier feeder chains - another big improvement! Mo' Power! Fewer roller chain drives and fewer drives alltogether. Elevators are driven from the top rather than the bottom = more capacity since the slack side isn't carrying the grain. Engine choices - Deutz or Cummins in early 52's - later just Cummins. Not sure about this one, but I think the Series II's were the first to use heavier auger flighting in high-wear areasIJIJ Don't remember if the R50 had that or not. And there have been many other improvements over the years in the Series II's. I'm sure others can add much more that has slipped my mind at this point. Tom langan
