Combines concave wedge

We zero the concave - top cross bar on upper threshing grate - and set the gauge (mid-min-max) to Mid when the clearance is 7_16" on front -2nd cross bar lower greate-. Then for wheat we go up 1 to 2 marks toward min via nuts on lower grate eyeboltes and set the grate just a little over 0 to whatever to get the job done. If one gets whitecaps still add fillter plates. If it is doing a good job try removing one at a time. Run cyl as fast as possible til crackage occurs. Remember speed cracks. Very seldom does clearance cause crackage.

all of ours are at 7_16" at the bottom when at zero in the back. we have over 40 CDF's out and have not had any trouble with this setup

Running as recommended in the CDF installation instructions, that is .6 to .75 inches at front grate bottom bar when 0 at first bottom bar of rear concave. I think mine is set right at 5_8 inch (.625). This is corn and soybeans only. Is the 7_16 you mention for corn and beans alsoIJ
