On my Idaho job, the farmer runs two case machines beside ours. He changes to small wire concaves going from barley to wheat.(He's planning on trading two for one 9750 next season). The first year with the 9750 I did the same. This past season, I left the small wire in front, and put round bars in the middle and rear positions. I then simply add the snap in inserts as needed. In barley usually one or two in the middle, and none in the rear, and in wheat, all of them. If you get into hard to thresh, add your covers as needed to the front of the middle, and rear of middle if really tough. This allows us to jump back and forth quickly, rather than taking 45 minutes to change the concaves. Our samples have been excellent, and we'll pick up almost a mile per hour in the barley staying with the round bar. This allows me to only have to switch concaves when I go out of small grains. P.S. You'll still have to pull the middle round bar out to change the front one.
