I don't really know but we run ours full advanced all the time. It really does help in tough green beans, gets the junk out of the rotor faster. Though advancing the vanes might get the crop moving and clear the trash out of the rotor. I have never had a problem like you describe in up to 160 bu corn at about 26%. It might be worth a try. moving the vanes didn't make any difference, thanks for the feedback. Have a set of round bar concaves to try if combine will hold together.
