Will they give the actual lab results(from the lab) from an analysis on a 300 hr tractor engine or a 15000_1yr truck that are certified. If not, then they are hiding something. I have seen too many engines that have been opened up after use of these MIRAClE OIlS that are trashed internally. Just be careful!

Think about it: Why do we change the oil in our vehicles every 3k milesIJ Its gets dirty and needs to be refreshed. It gets shavings, water_condensation, etc. Do you really want to run all of that stuff through your engineIJ Im in high school junior auto mechanics. We have already completed our lube chapter. Teacher taught us that man made oil is the best. It takes natural oil and combines man made additives to make it even better. The downside is money. It costs a bunch more. If you have the money, definately use the man made_synthetic. They say it can possibly be canged every 10k miles. Why would you want to do that. You would keep running that gunk through your engine. That is why if you have the money, buy the man made because its better and change it every (3k miles for example as opposed to the 10k). Especially with STD=Short Trip Driving you accumulate a lot of condensation from the block heating and cooling. Hope this junior knowledge helps. Its neat that I can apply what I learn in class to this page. Thats my (actually my teachers) $0.02 worth.

First see if any warranty would be affected by switching. Then ask your conklin rep. what their coverage would be in the event something goes wrong as it relates to oil. I will tell you this, we don't farm with horses or use a gas tractor for the heavy work because we have evolved to a better way, same goes for synthetic oil. I ran conklin oil 20 years ago in my Kenworth rear ends and trasmission. It was the best move I made in respect to oil. I never had the temp ga. go in the red when pulling the Rockies where as regular oil sent both trans. and rears pegged out. This was with mineral oil supposedly the best way to go then....not! Come winter in Iowa I would leave the house in -O or worse and the truck shifted just has it would in the winter. Fuel milage was also helped. I ran Cat engines and would have fully switched but Cat would not honor my warranty. Today they do...thats been my experience.

Synthetic oil is a better oil, and has advantages over conventional oil. It maintains it's viscosity over a wider range of temps and does'nt break down as quickly because of this. The long drain intervals can be met with a good oil. We have motor graders running 375 hrs on jd +50 15w40 with no signs of increased wear. You just have to figure out if the extended drain times work for you. I run jd 0w40 +50 in my truck and it sure does stay cleaner longer than conventional oil. Is it lubricating better or is it not picking up contaminants, hopefully lubricating better. Hope this helps a bit.

I agree 100% with the high school guy! That is what I've always been taught. I've used the jd oil and it works pretty good.

Conklin did have someone put this oil in a John Deere 4020 diesel tractor. To date, this tractor has 23,000 hours and has never been overhauled. Some companies have had service trucks_vans go 600,000 miles and still running with these oils.
