Combines CONTOURMASTER

The ContourMaster shines when cutting soybeans with a flex head. We also did not have much luck with the ultrasonic sensors when cutting wheat. We had the same trouble as you in high yielding wheat with moderately dense straw. The only field it worked on had thin straw. This was with the first generation Contour Master. I think the 50 Series may have addressed this problem with different sensor placement. John

Well I can say that they havnt fixed the problem as we bought a 50 series machine but have said they are working on the problem.They mentioned doing away with sonic testing and running something along the ground to gauge the ground and not the straw. I would say the system that Cat has would be ideal not that Ive seen one in action!
