Several things could be going on. The radiator could be getting close to plugged internally or externally, a good cleaning might be in order or flush the system and boil out and rod the radiator. Or the sending unit is not set properly for the alarms, this was adjustable and checkable on the late N's and late N's and R's are basically the same. Or just a bad sending unit. Good luck!

Winchester, The way you describe your light coming on dim, then bright, then dim brings to mind a couple of things to check.Do a continuity check between engine harness disconnect on front side of engine to ring tongue that connects to sensor.(Disconnect at both places to check.)I have seen where the air blast from the cooling fan can break the wires internally and only make connection intermittenly. As you are checking continuity, wiggle the wire in the air blast area.Another thing to check is when this light is coming on during the day, shut the air conditioning off and see if light goes out. Also,is this light coming on after dark when you turn the lights onIJ If so,have had several combine that are picking up alternator charging which can make the light come on.The only way to fix this problem is run a new wire on the outside of loom to the cab and tie in under console. Hope this helps, Hyper Harvest II

We just had the rad recored this past summer. I'm going to try what Hyper sugested. last night i noticed in the dark that the hydralic oil level light was lit dimmly as well. That one however never did go completely out. Does anyone have wiring schematics of the pacer modules. I wonder if there is a potentiometer to adjust for sensitivity. Thanx
