Am thinking of trying a 2 or 3 hundred acres of skip row corn dryland this year (as it's suppose to be frost resistant to late frosts). What setting would you go with on a 9500IJ I have no cylinder inserts and would probably have to head with a 30ft open front with sunflower trys. Any advice appreciated. Cheers Bundy
With a corn head, most of the time you take very little of the plant in with the ear. With a platform, you would be taking in the whole plant. Why put more wear and tear on your machine, and then have a trashy grain sample.
