We felt your pain a few miles to the east of you as well. I picked 40 acres of my corn from the Big "P" one way it was "standing" so poorly. Your absolutly right that crappy corn affects everything. We had picture perfect samples and very low harvest loses in all of our hybrids that were standing like they are supposed to; when we got to the bad stuff we had lots of cob breakage, some shoe loss, etc... Hard to set a machine to harvest 160-170 bu good quality bpa and get to areas in the same pass of the field that are 100 bpa, wet, and low test weight; not to mention you have to slow to a crawl to even get it in the machine. As for hybrids that have performed well in the recent past. The Dekalb hybrid families of DKC 440 (44-42, 44-46) and 46-26 (46-28, 47-10) have easily stole the show here. I bet our area will be over 50% the 440 family of genetics alone. Again DK in general has been great the last couple of years but as you know the only guarentee we have for next year is that it will be different from this year:) We have also had good luck with Crows 217B but they are taking that off the market for next year.
