3.8mph. w_643 head on a 6620 in 180 bu. corn, about 630-640 shaft speed but the sprokets on the head drives are sitched around to the middle speed so I can slow down the feeder chain. 130 bu. corn and still not full at 4.5 mph_670 shaft speed and that is too fast for the losses I see. Anything over 4 and the ears don't all stay in the head.

be it good or bad. lexion 460 180-200 bu corn3.8 is all the farmer would let it run. moisture about 16%. jpriddy698@aol.com this was a 12 row 30 inch header

We run a JD 8820 and an JD 893 head. Harvesting 210 bushel corn at 18-20% moisture, we were running about 3.7 MPH, a lower shaft speed of 600 RPM and cylinder speed of 4756 RPM. Most of the season we ran the range of 3.2-4.2 MPH, depending on the weather conditions.

8820 II with St. John cylinder. 12 row 30" head. 200bu. corn. 25% moisture. 2.8 mph. Range from 2.5-3.0 so far this year depending on moisture and slope. 550 backshaft speed.
