If the boxes are sealed well they should be good. It probably would be best to check the gearbox seals and oil. If it looks good go for it.

water can get in via the gathering chain drive shaft more so if the sprokets have been removed if i have water insid e the gear box you would be best to replace the needle roller bearings and the stalk roller bearings a quick pull out of the bung will soon tell you the truth good luck
