Combines corn header reel

We bought a reel from St John Welding If corn is down bad, we have to take half a swath at a time or the stalks bunch up when they meet at the feederhouse...A lot of material goes thru the machine, and most times the material is damp...There is a lot of adjustment to put the reel at the right height and distance from the end of the snoots to make it work for you...we added twice as many paddles, seemed to help, but down corn and vines make for a lot of work...In the past we have had a crop duster to apply 24-D before harvest to dry out the vines...they seem to want to bunch up and then all go thru at once...keep a good supply of rotor belts and Crown Royal handy...You will need both.
