Combines Corn in fanning mill

my guess is that you are pushing the capacity limit. in good corn (200 bu, 6r36 head, aprox 3.8mph or as fast as it will go in second, less than 1 kernel_sq foot on the ground) our 860's limiting factor for capacity is overflowin the clean grain auger and putting corn in the fan. if you come up with any great ideas on how to solve this let me know. brad

I am running a white cab 750 and do not have problems with corn in fan in 200 + bushel corn. last year we ran almost 5 mph in 180 bu corn and did not have any corn in fan. Years ago when I bought my first 750 I purchased a book called "Combine settings for better Harvesting". Best investment I ever made. I made some of the changes recomended and one of them was removing the air baffle in the fan throat. It has not been missed. I open the front of chaffer completly and run as much air as possible. The trash is mostly seperated when it falls off the grain pan and the grain is free to fall right away. If grain is getting in fan you either have too little air or your belt driving clean grain auger is not tight enough. Hope this helps.

I've experienced the same problem with my old 80 and 750 in soybeans, with the problem becoming worse with time. In the case of the 80, I fixed it by replacing the elevator chain and paddles, and putting in new slip clutche linings in the elevator drive. In the case of the 750, a new elevator chain and paddle assembly did the trick.
