The Ontario corn crop is sitting in a great position. If things continue to go well we could be looking at some bumper crops. The combination of early planting, good soil conditions and great weather have pushed corn in some areas to the tasselling stage giving those crops ample time for grain fill. There are still a number of things that have to come to pass to keep that crop looking good but if things go well during the pollination stage and those heat units continue to fuel those plants, producers can look forward to a great harvest.

In this episode of the Corn School, Greg Stewart of OMAFRA gives us a rundown of the Ontario corn crop and offers some timely advice on fungicide applications to protect the potential of that crop.
